Bookworm Konnie Huq steals the spotlight in short shorts during X Factor boot camp

Bookworm: The Xtra Factor presenter was deeply involved in her book while the X Factor judges filmed boot camp behind closed doors in London

With Pussycat Doll beauty Nicole Scherzinger replacing Cheryl Cole during boot camp auditions, Xtra Factor presenter Konnie Huq made sure she didn’t fade into oblivion by showing off a lot of leg.

The 35-year-old Brit, who has taken over from Holly Willoughby as the host of the ITV2 spin-off, exposed her pins in the tiny black shorts as she killed time on her break by reading a book and drinking coffee.

To exaggerate her bare limbs even further, the former Blue Peter presenter strolled around in four-inch stiletto heels while the X Factor judges were filming in London yesterday.

Konnie’s glamorous look will give new temporary judge Nicole, 32, some fierce competition and a fashion show down will no doubt be on the cards.

During last year’s filming, judges Dannii Minogue, 38, and Cheryl Cole, 27, were constantly compared for their X Factor outfit choices.

But while Dannii is on maternity leave and Cheryl recovers from Malaria, Konnie and Nicole are now the ITV talent show’s women in the spotlight.

Meanwhile, behind the closed doors of X Factor filming, choreographer Brian Friedman has been finding out which contestants have what it takes to dance up a storm.

The 33-year-old, who has created dance routines for Beyonce, Usher and Mariah Carey, said yesterday: ‘The X Factor boot camp is almost done. I’m dying to see who goes through.

‘X Factor will be incredible. I’m working with the contestants now and I’m blown away.’
This year’s show is set to place high emphasis on the hopefuls dancing and performing abilities to complement their singing prowess.

A source from the show told The Sun that Simon Cowell really wants an all rounded stage performer that can not only sing, but also raise the standards of dance and performance.

Nicole Sherzinger will be able to help Simon decide who has what it takes and who has two left feet, as the singer won Dancing with the Stars in the US this year.
