Distraction time: Jamie and Louise Redknapp soak up the sun on holiday in Sardinia, Italy, following World Cup disappointment for England

It was certainly a difficult 90 minutes to sit through.

So it was no surprise that Jamie and Louise Redknapp decided to distract themselves from England's humiliating World Cup defeat today by making the most of the sunshine in Italy.

The pair spent the day relaxing with friends in Sardinia, while Jamie attempted to cheer himself up after England lost to Germany 4-1 by reading Andre Agassi's autobiography.

While Jamie, 37, got stuck into the bestseller, his former pop star wife Louise, 35, adjusted her black and white striped bikini to ensure the optimal tan as she basked in the warm sunshine.

The former Triumph underwear model showed off her enviable figure in the triangle bikini, and shielded her eyes from the rays with a pair of trendy white aviator sunglasses.

It was recently reported that Louise is in the running to replace fellow WAG Christine Bleakley on The One Show, after Bleakley decided to make the move from the BBC to ITV to reunite with co-host Adrian Chiles.

Louise has already shown she has the skills to cut it as a presenter, as she has been fronting Something For The Weekend alongside Tim Lovejoy since January.

But for the moment, Louise is enjoying some time with her husband in Italy.

At one point, proving that they have one of the strongest marriages in football, Jamie teased his wife and made her laugh by pulling her along on her lounger.

Jamie and Louise have been married for 12 years and have two sons, five-year-old Charley and 18-month-old Beau.

Speaking in a recent interview, Louise said: 'I think I've just got to that stage in life where no matter what happens to me, I've got these two amazing little men in my life.

'I'm just so happy. But I never take it for granted.'
